Opera in the Park, Temple Newsam Park Leeds

Leeds City Council have announced the date for the biggest free outdoor classical concert held anywhere in the UK – Opera in the Park, Leeds.

The council’s Events team, who organise the annual flagship event held in the magnificent grounds of Temple Newsam, have confirmed that this years event will take place on the evening of Saturday 24 July with up to 50,000 set to attend one of the musical highlights of the year.

Last year’s Opera in the Park saw memorable performances from award-winning soloists Alfie Boe and Natasha Marsh together with the Hallé Symphony Orchestra and the Leeds Festival Chorus and details of this years line up are set to be announced here soon.

Opera in the Park will once again be supported by media partners Magic 828 and the Yorkshire Post.

Party in the Park, the brother event of Opera will also be held the day after at Temple Newsam on Sunday 25 July when the latest chart toppers will take to the stage in front of 70,000 people.

Tickets

Tickets for both Party and Opera in the Park will be available at a special Ticket Launch event on Millennium Square in Leeds city centre on Saturday 5 June.

Tickets will be available to collect in person between 10am - 2pm with a maximum of four tickets allocated per applicant.

The launch event will feature a special live broadcast by 96.3 Radio Aire and those attending will also have the chance to receive information on how to sign-up for the city's LeedsCard and BreezeCard schemes.

Following the ticket launch event, remaining tickets will be available to collect from various outlets around the city and selected local libraries with the latest ticket availability and information updated here on a regular basis.
